About Us

The Gateway to Your Career

What We Are

The Siena College AmeriCorps*VISTA Fellows was established within the Office of Academic Community Engagement at Siena College in 2008. It is a full-time, one-year, postgraduate service opportunity for individuals who want to make a positive impact on community development and social justice efforts through anti-poverty, capacity-building work. Since 2008, we have grown into a nationally recognized model for high-impact AmeriCorps*VISTA programs.

Where We Are

Our VISTA Fellows are matched with one of our 30+ nonprofit community partners located in mainly Albany and Troy. We also maintain national partnerships with the Bonner Foundation and the Corporation for National and Community Service.

During recruitment season, typically January through March of each year, our VISTA Leaders schedule information sessions at local colleges and table at nonprofit career fairs. We often bring along currently serving Siena College AmeriCorps VISTA Fellows to give you a firsthand account of the program.
